About us
Why we built NonRevCars
NonRevCars started from a simple, familiar frustration: crew rates for car hire used to be easy to find, and somewhere along the way they got scattered — a code here, a company portal there, a rumour in a Facebook group about a brand that "used to" do a staff deal. We wanted one straightforward place where airline staff could actually see what's available, without digging.
We're not a car rental company, and we're not affiliated with any of the brands we write about. We're an independent, crew-focused resource that compares live rates through a booking partner and writes honest guides on the practical side of renting a car as airline staff — deposits, insurance, one-way fees, which providers are worth knowing, and everything in between.
What we actually do
Two things, and we try to keep them separate and honest:
- We compare live rates. Our search connects to a booking partner that pulls rates across major providers — Hertz, Avis, Europcar, Alamo, National and Thrifty — so you can see the current price for your dates rather than a possibly outdated advertised figure.
- We write guides. Our articles cover the practical questions crew actually have — insurance, deposits, layovers, one-way rentals, and what to expect from each major provider. We write these ourselves, in plain language, and we update them as things change.
How we make money
NonRevCars is an independent affiliate. When you book through our search, we may earn a commission from our booking partner — at no extra cost to you. This is how the site stays free to use and ad-free. We think this is worth stating plainly rather than burying it, so you know exactly how the site works.
We don't invent numbers
If we're not certain of a figure, we say so and point you to the live search instead of guessing.
No memberships, no codes
The crew rates we compare are built into the booking — nothing to sign up for or hunt down.
Written for real crew life
Rosters change, layovers are short, and flexibility matters more than almost anything else — our guides are written with that in mind.
We keep it updated
Rental policies and provider programmes shift over time. We review and update our guides as things change.
